Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you install or use Compliance in a Box, or use this website.

Effective September 30, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between Auralite Solutions ("Auralite", "we", "us") and the organization that installs or uses the Compliance in a Box app for Confluence Cloud (the "app") ("Customer", "you"). They also apply to anyone using this website. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms on behalf of your organization, and you confirm that you are authorized to do so.

The app is distributed through the Atlassian Marketplace. Your purchase and the Marketplace itself are also governed by the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use. If these Terms conflict with Atlassian's terms on a matter of purchase, billing or refunds, Atlassian's terms apply.

2. License

Subject to these Terms and a valid license obtained through the Atlassian Marketplace, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the app on the Confluence Cloud site where it is installed, for your internal business purposes, for the users covered by your license.

3. Plans and payment

  • Free tier. The app is free, with full functionality, for Confluence sites licensed for up to 10 users.
  • Paid tiers. Above 10 users, the app is a paid subscription. Prices are shown on the Atlassian Marketplace listing, and Atlassian handles billing, renewals and refunds.
  • Inactive license. If your license is not active, the app becomes read-only: existing records remain viewable, but approvals, acknowledgements, submissions and new content are disabled until the license is active again. Your Confluence pages are not affected.

We may change prices for future subscription periods with reasonable advance notice through the Marketplace.

4. Restrictions

You will not, and will not allow others to:

  • copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app, except for the policy templates and other content the app places in your Confluence space, which you may edit freely for your own use;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise try to obtain the app's source code, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • resell, sublicense, rent or provide the app to third parties as a service;
  • bypass or interfere with licensing, permission or security controls;
  • use the app in violation of applicable law or Atlassian's terms.

5. Your data

You own your data: your Confluence pages and the records the app keeps about your compliance program ("Customer Data"). The app stores Customer Data in Atlassian Forge hosted storage for your site and does not send it to Auralite or any other third party. We do not access Customer Data. If you share Customer Data with us, for example in a support request, we use it only to provide support. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

You are responsible for the content of your compliance program, for configuring who can access your compliance space, and for backing up Confluence content as you see fit.

6. Not legal or audit advice

The app's policy templates, recurring activities and control mappings are a starting point. They are not legal, regulatory or audit advice, and using the app does not by itself make your organization compliant with SOC 2 or any other framework, or guarantee an audit outcome. Tailor the content to your organization and have it reviewed by your auditor or advisers.

7. Atlassian platform

The app runs on Atlassian Forge and Confluence Cloud, which Atlassian operates. Its availability, data storage, data residency, encryption and retention after uninstall depend on Atlassian's services and are subject to Atlassian's terms. We are not responsible for outages, changes or limits of Atlassian's services, but we will work to keep the app compatible with them.

8. Support

We provide support by email at support@auralitesolutions.com, with a target first response within 8 hours. See the Support page for details. We may release updates and fixes to the app at any time; Forge delivers them to your site automatically, except for changes that need your approval in Atlassian's admin settings.

9. Intellectual property

Auralite and its licensors own the app, this website and all related intellectual property. Except for the license in section 2, these Terms grant you no rights to them. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimer

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL MEET ANY PARTICULAR COMPLIANCE OR AUDIT REQUIREMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. AURALITE'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR US$100 IF YOU USE THE FREE TIER.

12. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Your license ends when your subscription ends or if you materially breach these Terms and don't cure the breach within 30 days of notice. When the license ends, you must stop using the app. Your Confluence pages, including generated evidence and report pages, remain in your space; the app's own records are deleted by Atlassian after its retention period. Sections 5, 6 and 9 to 14 survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, give notice on this website or by email to license contacts at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated Terms.

14. General

  • Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Auralite Solutions is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent, except to a successor of your business. We may assign them to a successor of our business.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use are the entire agreement about the app and replace any earlier understanding.
  • Severability and waiver. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of Atlassian's services.
